Help NTFS 1tb external 2.5 hdd? USB Powered.

I just purchased a 1tb hdd and can't get it working with the G-tablet, I've tried formatting it to FAT32, I'd prefer NTFS obviously!

Anyone had my issue or a similar issue and were able to solve it?

I'm using GTabComb b3.3 bl1.1 and kernal that comes with it 2.6.32.43 Cyanogenmod.

Thank you for your time in advance! :)

We'd all prefer NTFS, but these devices only support FAT32.

Let me ask, does the drive have it's own, external power supply? If not, and it relies on power from the (computer's) USB port, it won't work. There is not enough power in the tablet's USB port.

The other thing could be the size. From what I understand, these were designed to work with thumb drives. So, 1TB may not even be supported.

Both my 320GB and my 500GB HDDs work with my Tablet. Granted, they are obviously smaller than a 1TB, but they are also obviously much larger and power intensive than a flash drive. (Both are completely USB powered)

I've not been able to get ANY HDD that pulls it's power through the USB to work with mine. But, my 160GB drive has a 5v DC power port that I can plug an AC adaptor into. If I do that, it works just fine. It won't work without it.

It's good to know that it's putting out the juice. How bad does that kill your tablet's battery??? It's got to suck it down like crazy.

Anyway, back to the OP, that must leave the size. Perhaps try hooking it up to a PC and creating 2 partitions (500GB each), formatted FAT32.

I had tried that, but will try again with a smaller partition size, will even try only 1 active and formatted partition and let everyone know! :)

Sorry for the late response. It doesn't seem to effect my battery much at all, honestly. I watched an entire HD movie (~2GB file) located on the hard drive, and only brought it down to ~70%
