Number Missing from Call Log

Hi guys,

Really hoping someone can help here! Last night I took down someone's number in my phone (Samsung Galaxy 3) and I called it so I assumed it would be in my call log. Unfortunately, it wasn't!:mad: The only explanation I can offer is maybe I had poor reception so the call didn't ring, but I definitely pressed the Call button so I'm assuming that call should be registered somewhere...

Now, to my question. Is there anyway I can look at the back end of my phone, or any apps, that would enable me to find out what keys I pressed at that time i.e. what the number is! I'm thinking because I pressed the call button it should have triggered a record somewhere in my phone, it's just where that would be?

Also, if the call had rung, and the person didn't pick up but it didn't go to voicemail or anything, would my network provider still have a record of it?

Thanks guys, sorry for the long post!! :D

The network provider should still have it in their logs, I have seen this happen to me a few times also I have a Samsung phone too, not sure if it is related to their phones or not. I did receive a call from a number that was not in my phone book, and I did recall seeing the number, but was not able to answer as I was on another call on my house phone, minutes later I came back to check the log and it was not there. So you are not loosing it, and I am not sure why it does not stay in the logs on the phone, but it does happen. You can try going to your phone logs and press menu, and change to missed calls, and see if it does show up there for the heck of it. Good luck, cheers

FWIW, you might be best asking this in the S3 device section so others on the same device might have an answer for you.

Thanks DonB for that quick response, appreciate it! HOPEFULLY I can retrieve the number! Fingers and toes crossed!...
