Hello all,
This is my first post so greetings! I'vehad my evo for about two
Months and noticed yesterday that someone else with an android
Phone had a fb phonebook, which was a live folder.i have the updated
Fb app but no phonebook.any ideas?

I don't have the Evo, so I can't speak to how the Sense UI works specifically, but I have a hunch that it's either a filter for the Contacts app, a Facebook widget, or a folder for Facebook contacts on the home screen. OP, if you don't get a satisfactory answer here, try the section for Evo phones
 
no, live folders have nothing to do with sense it was a feature added in 1.5 i believe. (Android Developers Blog: Live folders)

anyways i dont think its an evo specific issue because the person who had the fb folder in their list of folders was my brother and he also has an evo. both on 2.2 version, neither rooted, etc.
 
hmm. just looked at my widgets --> folders section and I have a facebook folder available for my evo. I don't know what's wrong. maybe uninstall/reinstall facebook? Do any of your facebook friends definitely have their phone numbers available on their profile pages?
 
they definitely do, and i cant uninstall and reinstall because the app is integrated into the sprint package/sense, or something.
 
Try going to Settings > Accounts & sync > Facebook for HTC Sense (or whatever version you use) > Sync Contacts

Worked for me :)
 
facebook app from the market is the same one i have. and it is set to auto-sync, tried to manually sync it anyways and that didnt work either :(
 
so if you go into applications --> manage applications --> all --> do you see both facebook and facebook for htc sense? Because I just used titanium backup to freeze first facebook for htc sense and then facebook 1.5.1 and I only lost the phonebook folder when I froze 1.5.1, so it's definitely something to do with that...Did you try uninstalling and reinstalling?
 
yes, i see both. i cant uninstall because its attached to my phone with either sense or the sprint package, i could try to remove updates and reinstall the updates but i doubt thats gonna do anything. ugh this is frustrating
