Help O2 Settings & Phone Set-Up

i've just bought my G/F one of these phones & i've unlocked it, i've just got her to change her sim only plan to give her wifi.

i have put in my sim, to try and get the some of the O2 setting on the phone (so it'll come active with her sim when the wifi starts), but they wouldn't download/send to the phone, tried to text ACTIVE to 2020, but it comes back unable to send, contact the operator.

also tried to set up a gmail account, done it on the pc, and tried to get some stuff downloaded through the market (with my sim) but still no connection.


any ideas?

how old is the sim,maybe ask o2 to update your sim, i had to do that.

the sim is quite new, maybe 18 month old, it's newer than mine.

after a factory reset, i got these settings from here and i'm on 3G+

You'll need to set the Access Point Names manually. I'd just copy the settings from here :

It's not the same phone, but the settings are exactly the same. I added an APN on my San Fran with the settings from this page
