Observation App with Timer?

Hello: I am wondering if there is an app out there that will run a timer, and I could track, in real time, the occurrence of 1 to 5 variables in the amount of time--say, twenty minutes.

The context of my request is to observe a child's behavior over the period of time and be able to see when each variable occurred within the time frame. Custom variables would be a must!
