Help odd arrow key problem...

I was surfing on my in indulge using the slide out keypad and I was guess I held down one the arrow keys too long or something. Right after that none of the 4 arrows would at all, not even after a power down and a power up twice! I had to do a factory reset just to get back the function of the 4 arrow keys. Has anyone been through this an knows what causes it?i I wouldnt like to do another factory reset!

I have had the same problem with mine before and neither samsung nor metro knew how to fix it. So I had to do a factory reset also. Don't know what caused it.

I had a similar issue with the return key. I mainly use the onscreen keyboard. A few times already the the return key stopped working on all keyboards including the hardware keyboard. When it happened last time, I was running the android keyboard but had alternate keyboards installed. They are gone after the factory restore and I am leaving them off to see if the problem recurs. Personally, I suspect touchwiz.

One benefit of the factory restore is that the phone is running very smoothly now. I was getting a lot of force closes and lag prior to that. This phone seems to benefit from an enema now and then.
