Help Odd problem with pictures

Hi all,

Great forum! I am new to "smart" phones and Android but am enjoying it all very much. Am hoping someone can tell me what on earth is going on with the camera on my S4. I am using the camera app that comes with the phone, and it has been working fine. The other day, I picked up a card (SanDisk Ultra 64GB MicroSDXC Class 10 UHS Memory Card Speed Up To 30MB/s ) for it, so I would have plenty of storage, and changed the camera settings so it would save pics to the card.

The issue is this: Some of the pictures (a small % of them) are weirdly mixed up, like someone cut and pasted sections all over the place. I have posted an example below. Has anyone seen anything like this before and/or know what to do about it?

Try a different camera app (Camera FV-5 is pretty good). If it still persists, get some SD card test app (or program for your computer if you can mount the card in the computer - h2testw is good) to see if the card has some problem. (If it does, SanDisk is pretty easy to get a replacement from - just contact them on the web.)

Thanks so much for the reply! I will look into these things.

Since posting, I used the phone to reformat the card and snapped a handful of pics. The new ones did not have the problem, although I am reluctant to think that the problem is fixed.
