Odin not responding for unroot

Hey guys,

Seems I'm at a standstill here and trying to proceed cautiously...

Quick backstory:
> bought 2 Boostmobile Galaxy S2 SPH-D710's circa 2013 (for me and the gf)
> rooted mine with CyanogenMod version 10.1 & upgraded to Android version 4.2.2
> got myself a new phone & deactivated plan
> gf wrecks her phone and wants to transfer her plan to my old phone
> speak with Boostmobile tech support to transfer plan
> root seems to interfere with activation of my old phone so I set out to unroot (no data on this phone to save, just want the entire thing wiped and set to factory default)

Current situation:
> Did as much research as I could
> DL'd Kies & appropriate Samsung drivers (running Windows 8.1 on my PC)
> DL'd .exe & .tar.md5 from here: http://www.rwilco12.com/downloads.php?dir=Files/Devices/Samsung Galaxy S2 (Boost) (SPH-D710BST)/Stock ROMs/JB/GC01/Full Restore/Unrooted
> Followed the steps here: http://www.rwilco12.com/Files/Devices/Samsung Galaxy S2 (Boost) (SPH-D710BST)/Tutorials/SPHD710BST-OneClick.php

From there Odin stops responding. Here are pics of what's going on:

Its been over 30 minutes... What to do?

Left it plugged in and went to do other things. Came back and nothing has changed about 3 hours later. Going to close out the window and disconnect the phone, then copy/install Kies, Samsung drivers, and ROM files to a laptop running Windows 7 to see if that works (same laptop I originally rooted the phone on a long time ago).

...took out the battery to shut it off, then powered on and it booted up normally so at least its not bricked (yet :D)

Although I didn't get any help from this forum post (understandable, given that this phone is pretty old) I thought I'd go ahead and report that the story did end well in case anyone comes upon this thread while seeking a solution for a similar problem.

How I got it work:
> installed Kies on my Win. 7 laptop
> connected phone via USB just to see if Kies would pick it up
> Kies displayed an error message saying that I needed to change my USB connection settings
> changed from "Mass storage" to "Media device (MTP)"

> disconnected & reconnected phone to pc
> closed Kies
> Followed the steps here: http://www.rwilco12.com/Files/Devices/Samsung Galaxy S2 (Boost) (SPH-D710BST)/Tutorials/SPHD710BST-OneClick.php
> Success!
