Root Odin stuck on modem.bin

Hi,

I have a rooted t-mobile Galaxy S 4G and tried to do a factory reset through ODIN, but now every time I try to flash through Odin, the process fails at Modem.bin.

My phone no longer turns on, but pushing the volume buttons, inserting the USB plug, and then the battery does successfully put the phone into Download mode.

I was trying other methods, heimdall, and installed new drivers to try that, but whenever the phone reboots, it disconnects.

Now when I try to use Odin, the COM box doesn't turn yellow, even in download mode. Any help restoring my phone to a working condition?

Thanks!

***UPDATE***
Read more on the forums and have gotten the drivers for Odin re-installed and Odin flashes now fail at this step:
<ID:0/004> Complete(Write) operation failed.

I've tried different Odin versions, different mods, different cables, battery/sim card/sd card in and out and all of their permutations, and all of my ports, with the same result.

Can anyone give any suggestions on how to get past this last step?

Thanks!
