Help # of apps and phone performance

I'm wondering how many apps the evo 4g can handle before it starts affecting the performance or slowing the phone down in anyway. Does anyone have any idea. I notice myself trying to limit what I put on my phone so i was just curious. Thanks in advance for any answers.

Apps that run in the background could affect performance, but a large total number probably won't. You can run out of storage space, but on an Evo that's a lot of apps.
