Yes.... it worries me.

:-(

she has gained so much confidence since i fist got her.... but i worry like nothing on earth when i see her jump into the bushes like that....

i am overjoyed to see her have gained so much confidence these days and i don't want to discourage her by jumping into the bushes like that.... the Cape Cobra does get seen around here.

it hunts / operates during the day and sleeps at night....

the 1 guy in our gated complex said he saw 2 in 1 month.

not cool....

i don't know what to do at times... i don't want to lose her but i don't want to make her discouraged.

i would go mad if she died.

i love my girl.

Ask your vet how often dogs get bitten and what the prognosis might be. While they say fatality is possible, recovery is more likely in humans as long as you can get them on a respirator soon enough.

We have copperheads here but there is a much greater chance of one of my puppies getting hit by a school bus than ever getting bitten by a snake. Some things are not worth worrying about. Now, if I ever see a school bus get bit by a copperhead ....

But yes thats why a dog would be able to let a snake get close to him or her . The snake sounds of approach and hisssss some dogs think of this as a joke or in pitts that sound is a get ready. I have a friend with a blue pit . He does this behind the the puppy it goes wild . This little pitt barks and plays . So a snake getting that close to a dog . Nahhhhh maybe a puppy cause he is curious

This Sadie, our Golden Retriever, who we adopted from the Whatcom Humane Society. She's about 8 or 9 now. When we adopted her 3 years ago, she was very obese at 120lbs. Her previous owner was elderly and in poor health, so Sadie got lots of scraps but no exercise. When her owner died, the family didn't want her (?!?!) so we gave her a home. She's down to about 90 lbs now...but she is still a food hound. She will eat anything and everything. She jumps up to pick fruit from our pear and apple trees. She eats raspberries and blueberries off the bushes. She even eats dirt. Poor girl thinks she's starving. But she's a real sweetie (as are most Goldens).

She didn't inherit the tug of war aspects of pitbulls but boy will she play some fetch! (lab side)

Edit-the healthiness comes from the fact my dogs mix is considered an exceptionally long living and healthy dog.

Many. moons ago I had a golden/pit. He was a character. He taught me how to ride my motorcycle with him on the back. At first we went slow but soon we went everywhere except the freeway. He loved bikes so much that soon he was running for a ride on any bike. There was a stop sign 2 houses away and when they stop he would run as fast as he could to get a ride. Imagine a 90lb golden/pit running at you. He freaked a lot of riders out.
