Can you tell us what kind of device you are using, that way we'd be in a better position to help.
As far as I'm aware, there isn't the capability to do that on a lot of (maybe all) handsets at the moment.

If you want to access your files on your SD card from your PC, connect your phone via USB to the PC, and pull down the notification bar (the white/black bar at the top of your screen) and select Mount SD to PC (something like that)

Apologies, I thought you meant you wanted to view your Phones screen on the PC. If you're just looking at files etc, then yes, shadownintys suggestion is most certainly viable.
