The goal here is to find an app that ideally has GoodReader (iOS) like functionality. There are several apps for pdf only like iAnnotate or ezPDF etc. I have tried majority of them (i.e. the ones commonly found to be recommended by the folks), and none of them have GoodReader like functionality. The functionality that I am talking about is, syncing the documents from Dropbox or other web hosting service, you do annotations you like and sync it back to Dropbox. All I need is highlight or similar features, no fancy stuff like drawing etc.
Then I came across Office Apps. QuickOffice lite came installed on my Nook HD+ and DW asked me about creating documents and putting on the web, as they have some issues going on at her workplace, that drives her mad. Using own android tablet to get work done is lot easier.
While going through that app, I found that it has functionality of Dropbox, but I am yet not too sure if it just links and open files from Dropbox or downloads everything locally and then syncs back to Dropbox (but I do not see any sync button as I do in GoodReader).
I looked at few other office apps (surprisingly they are all free now, I remember they were paid a while ago).
QuickOffice https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.quickoffice.android
Most likely, this being a Google product, it will do the job on the web only. No downloads.
Kingsoft Office + PDF - 45 Lan https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cn.wps.moffice_i18n
Kingsoft Office + PDF - FREE! https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cn.wps.moffice_eng
(Whats the difference between these 2? Kingsoft's website does not mention these two separate products.)
Olive Office Premium (free) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.olivephone.edit
Documents To Go 3.0 Main App https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dataviz.docstogo
OfficeSuite 7 (PDF & HD) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobisystems.office
Now the question to the users of any of these applications, do they offer sync ability with Dropbox, like GoodReader does?
Thanks a lot in advance. It amazes me that there is so much demand for this functionality and no app developer is interested in integrating it. Is it that difficult to implement? Charge for it, so many will pay happily.
