I did a chat with them and they said no stock and no timeline for new stock.

Your order clearly says "Your order contains backordered items are back ordered" so not sure why you say "Still shows delivery by 12/22 " as I think it obvious an Out Of Stock warning makes the "Delivery by 12/22" totally void obviously. Worth putting in the order, but I wouldn't hold much hope. I am just not interested in 3-4 orders with people.

I am hoping the one I have at Amazon for my chick will get earlier fulfillment than 4-7 weeks but by then I suspect being able to get them will be less of an issue so may not even need the order.
 
It actually showed expected delivery date same as the original post during some part of my checkout but you are right its not on the final screen that I pasted so not sure
 
Saw this thread and added another order from Office Depot. During check out it said estimated delivery was 12/27. Now when I check the order it says delivery status pending. I will call them tomorrow and if they can't stick with that date I will cancel. I already have orders with Amazon and Expansys. Hoping they just haven't had that many people order from them.

UPDATE: Just spoke with someone from Office Depot and they said that their system is showing an estimated delivery date of 12/27. When questioned further she stood by that date. Hopefully she's right.
 
Just received my shipping confirmation and tracking number from Office Depot. It arrives today!

I can't believe with all the preorder fiasco, I just happened to do a search on the OD site during the early morning of the 20th, after receiving their usual sale email. At the time I didn't even know OD was selling them. There I found it, ordered it, and now it will arrive two days later! My order never showed backordered. I'm in NC.

Cancelling my JR and Amazon preorders. Good luck to everyone else and Happy Holidays!

Office Depot site just let me order one. Don't know if I will get a "item is back ordered" email, but according to the email confirmation its a go. We will see.

Thanks, I did not know that... now a dilemma.. I'm not really a fan of the Gray. I have preordered the "Champagne" from Amazon and Bestbuy. I guess I will wait and see what it looks like when I get it and if I don't like it maybe I'll put it for sale here at AF or ebay. If it even gets shipped.
 
Hummm, this is weird. I just thought of trying different places like you guys did and for some reason i think it worked. I just ordered from Staples.com and it says "i will have tomorrow".......

this can't be. I'm never lucky.... Did i pick the correct one? TF201, right ????

I know it's only 32G but with expandable memory i don't care (it's a gift for the wife)

If it's the one that listed for $499, then yup, correct one.

but there is NO way!!!!!! has anyone else ordered from Staples. How can the whole country just be waiting and an idiot like me goes to Staples.com and gets one for tomorrow? No Way!!!!!!!!

they have a live chat and I am waiting now to see if this is true.

I just got the dreaded January 26th to Feb 9th e-mail from Amazon this morning.:(
 
My pre-order ended up being back ordered by Best Buy even though the customer no-service person I spoke with assured me it would be delivered by tomorrow. I just went to Staples.com and after a couple of tries I was able to order a Prime for delivery next Tues. 12/27!

I've been checking Staples almost every day, figuring they should be carrying this. But, until now, they didn't.

After seeing your post, I placed the order with them, and they are showing expected delivery of tomorrow.

I can't wait to see a tracking number, to know this is really real.

Maybe they didn't take any pre-orders, so their initial stock is up for grabs. The Gamestop on Staten Island says they are getting them in tomorrow, and I should come in. Now, I guess I won't.
