Official 4G/WiMAX Coverage Areas

Just an fyi and I had thrown this out there in a few other posts, 4G is available in Brooklyn, mainly by Coney Island and then I got a signal in the Park Slope area!!

Just to add, I picked it up on the N train in Queens from about Broadway up to 39th Ave. This runs North/South on 31st in Astoria/LIC.

I have yet to find a location that gives me better 4G than the best 3G, but at times 4G does better than 3G in the same spot. I usually just use 3G, sprint's 3G on Oahu is pretty damn good.

I was in Oahu for 8 days this month and the 4g service was nice to have, not lightning fast(1.5-3mbps dl & .5-1mbps ul) but fast and not a battery killer, unless you lost connection to the 4g and the radio was scanning constantly.

One thing that bothered me was the 4g's sensitivity to walls/buildings, I know with wimax's higher spectrum it's building penetration is on the weak side but it was annoying. I could have all 3 bars of 4g, walk into a building and completely lose 4g connection until i would walk back outside. This happened multiple times, in multiple locations it and annoyed the crap out of me.

I do agree with everyone here that the 3g speeds in Oahu are awesome and consistent.

On a bright note now that I'm home in Los Angeles i'm excited to see that I'm picking up 4g further and further away from Downtown(as far as Monterrey Park so far.)

everyone in the metro go check the maps!

Looks like were really live and official!

although wth no 4g in Chesterfield, St Chuck, Clayton, basically most of west county south of 40. interesting... but were live! Guess the Sprint4g ads on the Cardinals games were right when it said really soon!

Clarkson and Clayton I get a very strong 4g signal. West of the I get nothing.

interesting, since the maps show no 4g at all in well basically all of the Chesterfield region. too bad it looks like Sprint didn't put up 4g east of 255 yet, basically isolating a large chunk of the Metro East.. hopefully Sprint keeps upgrading areas quickly.

I don't know if I am blind or what but I can't find the 4g locators you guys are talking about. Am I missing something here?

Sprint makes it hard to find, go to the online map, click data, THEN look for Devices with 4g, Click it then the 4g coverage pops up on top of 3g coverage.

Bad move on Sprints part, makes it difficult at the best to find.

Don't Worry it took me a long time to find it for a while, I really wish Sprint put it easier to get, since they advertise about 4g so much...

So sad I left Hawaii Kai to live in silicon valley two blocks from google and I can't get a 4g connection. Oh well any time I go "home" I can check it out.

agree 100%, i never turn my 4g on and even in the sprint store at Pearl Ridge i only got 400 kb/s on full bars, while on like 2 bars of 3g im getting 1.3 mb/s

I can't even connect to 4G in Kunia :p feel lucky you get the signal at all.

That's funny because I live in village park. If you look at themap from a distance there is no 4g in the village park area yet when you zoom in as much as you can and i went to my street specifically it was blue. So I can get a 4g signal yet it won't connect to anything. Yet I work in kalihi and get great 4g speeds, well the same as listed above but I will admit that 3g speeds are definitely great!!! I am truly happy with my phone and was surprised how fast this phone sold out on the drop date
