He has a hero so i wont know anything. will report back if i get to test speeds or anything else.

My Map Viewer app is showing some new live areas in the East Bay south of San Francisco. I check it about once a week and this is the first sign of life I've seen.

Look forward to trying it monday on my commute since I go right through one of those areas.

Anyone getting 4g in the East Bay?

In SF Bay Area, only usually get a good 4G signal (6Mbps) around the Mercado area off 101 in Santa Clara. Today picked up a weak 4G signal (3Mbps) where I live, by the HP Pavillion. Looks like 4G is starting to be rolled out (unofficially) in the South Bay.

Yay!!!!! They turned 4g on for me in costa mesa off baker and 55.. I live on paularino and 55 sped test app giving me 2.5-3.9 server out of kansas though..... Wow is all I can say its fast!!!!

4g in orange county

Ps... Results are only 1 bar of 4g.... I'm afraid to move and get disconnected lol

I'm in south orange county. Will areas close to the upcoming 4G markets have coverage?
Seems like its moving south from la area.

I'm in costa mesa at 405/55 off baker

Map Viewer is showing pretty widespread 4g in and around San Jose. That's definitely new over the last week or so.

To those in the Miami area, this is a response I got from Nationwide 4G WiMAX over Twitter:

#Miami 4G pre-launch is n Sept, testin #4G WiMAX system has already begun; towers are on, then off, then on, then off..testin

On a side note, I tried out 4G in Atlanta while moving on the highway...got 3.73 down and 0.99 up. Fluctuating between no bars and 1-2.

Me and my buddy both picked up a 4g signal on our Evo's with 0-1 bars at the San Joaquin Driving Range in Irvine (Michelson and Harvard, just off the 405).

I used the Speed test app (server in Wichita, KS) three times and the best gave a 2.86mbps down and .73mbps up.

The phones stayed connected the entire time we were at the driving range, however, we both lost the 4g signal about 20/30 feet away in the parking lot.

Got a connection on 17th and newport in costa mesa also...but disconnected after a few mins....looks like they are slowly lighting up costa mesa area!!!

At this rate 4G coverage should be through most of OC in maybe 3 - 4 months? The phone has only been out for about 2 months and Sprint doesn't seem to be messing around with adding 4G towers.

I'm going to start plotting all the 4g areas I get (connection lasting more than a minute) on google buzz...

Anyone else thimk we should google buzz our 4g locations?

One hold up maybe for Back haul, They were awaiting approval to install a microwave tower in the O.C. its been a few months so it may have gotten approved..

Nothing at the Westminster mall area yet. Sucks hearing about long beach and Costa Mesa having a 4th signal and not getting any right between the two cities lol.

I also work at JWA and this morning 7/25 I got 4g message available. I've got this message before so I wasn't too excited, but this time was different. After telling me about the 4g signal it actually connected to a very solid signal, and I was getting about 5 mbps steady for several hours.

After being steady for a few hours it eventually became more hit or miss. I would lose 4g and get it back after an hour, only to loose it again. Overall when the signal was good it was very nice :)

Well, let's hope they keep up the good work; SNA is my commute airport on Mondays, and since SFO is frequently subjected to ATC throttling, I can never tell how long I'm gonna be in there some days.

17th st in costa mesa now connects and stays connected to 4g... there is a clear wire antenna at 17th and irvine on top of la cave/block buster...

Just curious, am I the only CFL guy that noticed a quick 4G signal pop up for a brief few minutes?!

I was at work walking around my building and for about 3minutes I saw my 4G notification pop up and said 4G available network found. By the time I got to the 4G options, it went away.

I was at home messing around with my EVO the other morning in Hunter's Creek and lo and behold, my 4G icon popped up and said "4G Network Available". By the time my erection went away, it was too late to try to connect lol.

Man I can't wait for 4G! I lived in Portland and Las Vegas in the last year before relocating here and they are both 4G, I'm so jealous of my friends who live there and their EVOs. Oh well, hopefully this will happen by the end of August like everyone is speculating.

I'm hoping they have some around Universal by the 6th of August, as I'll be there vacationing. That'd be sweet, cause I'm rarely outside enough to use 4G around here.
