sorry bro but my case is still in great condition. ive had it for a couple months now.
i understand it depends on how one handles the phone but i grip it at the same areas you grip yours and i don't have those bare spots.
 
Using Otterbox Symmetry clear case. All the side buttons are hard to press until i add double sided tape + paper from within the case button groove, works great now but needs a few trial an error to get the optimum paper thickness.

This case is 4mm thick each side so in total 8mm added to the width and height, and 3mm to the thickness. Wireless charging still works with this thickness. Fingerprint sensor is of course won't be as comfortable as without the case, but still working good with proper chamfer .

Bottom ports are protected in pockets, the USB port is not compatible with most of the adapter in the market. USB-C to USB-A adapter by Samsung itself won't fit into this case, i hope i do not need this function often. USB-C cable with thicker shell may not fit into this case. SPen is not that convenient to access, those who use this very often may find this annoying.

I bought clear case because my phone is of gold/silver colour. Not a good idea because once the case is scratched or dirty it is really obvious. Black colour could be better :cool:. The case side is matte with better grip, but not the bottom which feels slippery and it gets worse when the hand is oily. The phone will start sliding down from the hand by resting it freely on the palm with just 45°. It would be much better if the whole case is matte but it will lose the clear view.
 
Hi does anyone know of the type of hdmi adapter that plugs into the bottom of the phone where the opposite end would have a female hdmi port to plug the phone into thank you

I had this one for my note 4 but it does not fit into my phone charging port anymore

There was a reason I did those as two seperate posts. It was because it was different topics and crucially so as to avoid mixing the pics.

Does it have a slight lip so you can lay your phone face down and it doesn't touch the surface you laid it on? I always ask as I would hate to have my phone touch a public table and then my face. I mean I know where my screen has been but not what has been on that table!

I really like these. Similar protection to an Otterbox. I've chucked (often literally) a Note around in one of these for four years, dropped it quite a bit, had it bounce off various surfaces. Phone completely protected.

This feels exactly the same as my last one. If you are hard on kit, this does the job.

Didn't bother last time. Good decision. Not bothering again. The case *does* raise the over the phone front so if laid face down the screen doesn't touch.
 
Glad to hear your phone doesn't touch surfaces when face down. Who knows what was on that surface last? And then you put it next to your mouth? Ewww!
 
Anways. My previous screen was fine after 4 years of heavy use in one of these so I'm happy not to get a screen protector. I was wondering how UAG would cope with the curved screen edge but it seems to have been cleverly done.

I think UAG do two lower grades of cases now but I still went for this one. Maximum protection. My sole complaint was only the choice of two colours. I tend to go for 'where the ****; did I put my phone' colours so bright yellow or orange for preference. Where there's no signal you can't just call a mislaid phone.

Fits my old Vega leather shoulder holster just fine and that's four years old too.

I know that I don't need a quick charger, but for convenience when in bed, it would be nice to have this. This one from Samsung has mixed reviews. As far as the case, I need something that will protect me from drops. I'm more concerned about that than looks (but a nice combination of both would be optimum).

what "mixed reviews" are you concerned about?

if you order from amazon (ships from and/or fulfilled by amazon) you get easy returns if you dont like the item, so win-win to check out those products.

i have two samsung convertible wireless docks (one in the man cave and one at the bed) and have had them since the note 8 started shipping. no issues with them. worth the cost.

another charger i personally have is the choetech. its a great charger and works with the note8.
