Official AIM app issues

i'm having some problems with the official AIM app. when i select the "Close All IMs" option and close out the app and open it again, all my IM windows are still there. anyone have any idea what might be causing this?

the reason i'm using the official AIM app over others is that it seems to be the only one that doesn't disconnect me after a period of time. i think i've tried pretty much every free AIM app in the market. does anyone have any suggestions on apps that work for them, without disconnections?

Imo.im and eBuddy. Imo is push, so should be better in your battery. Try that first.

Make sure your phone is not set to disconnect from data after x-minutes. This could be why you keep getting disconnected. And make sure you whitelist the app if you're using a task killer.

just tried imo.im again and i'm still getting disconnected. this seems to be a problem across IM apps, maybe due to the way android kills processes.

i'm not running any task killers either.

Imo and ebuddy stay connected for me. I think you have an app that is closing/controlling your data connection such that your timeout/display off closes your data connection.

I've always used HI Im. It's the only AIM app I've ever used.
