Root Official Google Keyboard

I'm sorry if I haven't been clear in my other posts though I'm sure I have mentioned that I have tried to install it by downloading the app to my sd card and install it manually instead of going through the app store.

Then I gotta hand this off to someone with more skillz.

Sorry to be so much trouble lol,but I appreciate your efforts:thumbup:

uploading a new version of SuperROM. I have not tested the rom at all yet but it has the new google keyboard installed by default. I will post the link in this post when it is complete (prolly 5 minutes). You can be my tester ;)

edit: link removed

edit2: You are not trouble. If it doesn't work we try to fix it. Thanks for asking when you have problems :)

you could try flashing without a data wipe. It will prolly work and save you a ton of time. Worst case you go back and wipe it lol

Yeah gonna do a dirty flash once I back my current setup. I took your original super Rom and added my own stuff to it and replaced some stuff while restoring some of the original apk's from another Rom to set it up how I liked. Will there be a change log.

updated all the apps
replaced stock keyboard with google keyboard
removed wifi-tether (it didn't work and needed to be re-installed anyway)
removed holo-reboot (same functionality exists in power toggles)
removed a couple more useless stock apps.

NOTE: there is no need to update if you are already running SuperROM and are able to install Google Keyboard from the Play Store

Almost done downloading now. Then off to dirty flash! :D

Did a dirty flash and the keyboard sadly does not work for me. It FC 's no matter what. Cleared both caches as well. It's the only thing that didn't work for me.

I only ask this cuz I don't know... Is it possible u messed up (like a system file) or something in ur phone??

Nah didn't mess anything up for sure. I didn't remove any files or anything funky. Gonna try a clean flash next

K, try this APOPHiS420.

Flashable_Gkeyboard.zip

This will flash google keyboard to your data partition, not /system. It will also disable /system/app/LatinIME.apk by renaming it to LatinIME.apk1 thus avoiding potential conflicts. I would recommend restoring your backup, then flash this zip.
