[Official] "I Got My G1" Thread

I got mine yesterday and it's awesome and you can see that this phone has large potential.. Has anyone noticed that the specs of the phone are that of the touch pro.. Im coming from the diamond and I feel the only thing im losing is the touch sensitive keypad. Sure there are alot of complaints right now about the phone but its really all software. The phone is definitely capable we just have to work on it..The phone is awesome and is definitely gonna turn heads in the next few months. Has anyone noticed too that once you play with the device yourself for a while that a good majority of the reviews on the phone are false in some way? Maybe we should write our own personal review.. or maybe I can work on one rather than volunteering others:)
 
I've had a my g1 for a while now.. I've already unlocked and have been using it on AT&T.

Mine came today. I didn't get an alert that it was coming -- my wife is the primary on our T-Mobile account, maybe it got sent to one of her email accounts.

Anyhow it was a pleasant surprise as I wasn't expecting it until early November.

Been playing with it for a few hours and love it!

I just joined this forum and look forward to reading your posts and sharing my observations. This is the device I've been waiting for for years.

Finally got my G1 today. Sold out almost everywhere I had checked (Southeastern Michigan.)

Unfortunately, I had to buy it retail, so now I'm stuck waiting on a friend to let me temporarily borrow his SIM to get it up and running.

just got mine conformed delivery via text and i am at work ugh i hour to go, good thing i am going as the professor in my halloween group i can show my smart tech savy on the women
 
Just got back from the mall where I picked mine up. I'm about 11 months early for my upgrade eligibility, but they gave it to me for $179.99!!!

I saw one Tuesday night at dinner with friends in the city...

... and had to race out and pick one up the very next day. I bought mine at a local Costco on 10/29. So far, so GOOD - though I do have some questions, and am looking forward to learning and sharing answers with all of you here. ;)
 
I basically did a t-mobile store search on google maps one afternoon and started calling around 8:30p.m which is generally when the stores close. It was about my 5th number when I unknowingly at the time called a Costco nearby and they had the G1's in stock. I told them to put one on hold went there and got it the next day. $179.99 upgrade, total came out to be like $197 they had free activation too!

Been loving this phone ever since the moment it reached my hands.

I never knew they sold them at Costco, I just went to my local T-Mobile store.
 
awe yay I missed this thread but i'm so excited to be a part of this community of the priveleged. I got my phone on the 20th and I have been on a cloud ever since. Now I got the update it seems battery life is better! yay me!
 
Got mine from a local T-Mobile store in Plano, TX just outside of Dallas. I guess I'm lucky they had some in stock (just black though, no "bronze" :( ).

I don't know... Don't get me wrong, I'm happy with the black one. I was visiting a client last week, and I saw a bronze one and I liked it better. It's very subtle - not terribly different. But it has a slight metallic sparkle that I like. Oh well... I STILL LOVE THIS PHONE!

Now if only they'd fix this annoying data issue... :mad:
