Official "I JUST ORDERED THE NEXUS 5!!!" Thread

Ordered mine last Tuesday, and the expected ship date is 12/3, which is fine since I'm going to wait until mid-December when my Verizon contract ends, so that should still give me a couple days to play around with it before activating it on T-Mobile.

Looks like demand is strong for these. Google hasn't done much advertising as usual - Nexus devices are mostly word-of-mouth and media articles.

Yeah my contract ends Jan 4th and they still want 130 to cancel. 350/24 != 10 bucks a month. It should go down by about 15 bucks a month. This is how they get you. For now I am using the $30 prepaid plan until January.

Ordered the White 32 on the 16th that is due to leave warehouse on the 26th.. received pending notice today

Mine was ordered the 12th and it shipped yesterday, so I'm hoping Monday or Tuesday it will be in my hands! First thing, I'm rooting it.

I will be purchasing the Nexus 5 today from Google Play. I am coming from an iphone 4s. I don't really now anything about Android so I am excited!
If I order today, what are the chances I will have it before Christmas?

Thanks.

I showed a pending bank charge on the 12th, now there is no record of it in my bank account. I was excited thinking I'll get it early but know it doesn't look like it.

Once I placed the order the money was taken out. I just looked at my bank account this morning and it's no longer or pending. I wonder what happen. My order still says pending.

It's going to depend on what phone you ordered and where you're located.
I came from a iPhone 4S (new to android). I haven't been disappointed though it's been 2 weeks and I'm still getting used to it. You can pop your SIM out of your 4S and put it straight into your N5 which is nice -no waiting.

Hey thanks for your reply!
I'm glad you like your new phone. I was actually wondering about the sim card. So I can just pop the 4s sim right in to the Nexus 5 without having to notify T-Mobile at all? cool!

I had an AT&T post-paid plan and I was able to just take the SIM out of my iPhone, put it in the N5 and start using the N5 full-time. I did have to go onto the iPhone and turn off iMessages because when my iPhone-owning friends texted me and I was at home on wi-fi, their text messages were still going to my iPhone.
The only problem I've had with my N5 is that it won't connect to my Windows XP when I plug it in but someone told me about the app called AirDroid and that's worked fine for transferring songs onto my phone.
The biggest adjustment for me so far is trying to get used to a different keyboard. The screen seems to read my fingertips a little differently - generally selecting the letter below the one I want so I'm just trying to adjust my habit of how I use my phone. I use speech-to-text a lot so I'm trying out an app keyboard (rather than the Google keyboard) to decide which one I like best.
I wrote out my thoughts after 1 week HERE on Google+.

Blazing fast delivery. Ordered a nexus 5 panda yesterday at 4pm. Play store said 2-3 week to leave warehouse. Well... I received it 11:30 am today. I did opt for next day shipping. Merry xmas

i was under contract with AT&T with my iphone 4s, but recently got it unlocked by them when my contract expired in October, and then switched to T-Mobile.

Also, i ended up going with the black 32gb model. Hopefully it really will ship out by Dec 3. I was surprised there was tax though. I didn't think there's a Google store in Phoenix anywhere.
Oh, and I'll have to check out the keyboard apps. I'm going to look around and see what everyones liking.

Ordered Black 32GB on November 12, ETA is November 26 by the end of the day. I hope they're right as I've been phoneless since October 28 (Evo LTE got stolen). I can't go much more without a phone!

I'm not phone-less but I fill like I am. Using a $15 dollar cheap go phone I bought at wal mart to hold me over so I can at least get calls. With 3 kids I had to have something. I charged it once when I got it and it still has a full charge it's been over a week so that tells you don't touch it very much!
