Official I've got ICS installed thread..

Factory reset will fix it.

Mine was painfully slow for about 5 minutes until it got all settled down. I restarted it after about an hour just to get things straight. It is fast and buttery-smooth now. Give it a bit to settle down, and try restarting it. If all else fails, there's always the factory reset.

Mine was also acting a little goofy. I was hoping I would be able to get away with not factory resetting, but it doesn't appear to be the case.

Prior to ICS there were a few goofy things going on anyway, so I just figure this is a good point to dive in and start fresh. I'm sure I'll be able to get rid of some seldom, if ever, used apps too. Sort of a house cleaning.

I'm hoping (and guessing it to be true) that it'll clear everything up.

This is a pretty big step up from GB, so I kind of figured this would be best anyway.

I was asked how to do this, so here goes:

settings>security>owner info > check "show owner info on lock screen

It's a free form screen after that, what you want to enter.
 
I figured out my contact picture but for some reason I am not getting notifications for texts.
I use to use go sms pro, but I like the stock app look. So I went in and turned off the notifications for go sms and unchecked where it said to disable notifications from the stock app but i still get no notifications
Is there something I am missing? Thanks
 
yep they are, display notifications in status bar is selected and ringtone is selected and vibrate when notified is selected

Try uninstalling go sms pro, you can always reinstall it later
 
Ive been running ICS on my phone for about a week now, the OTA for my wifes phone happened last night. ICS is nice but I fail to see what all the hubbub that everyone was so frantic about hurrying up to get it. Must be an age thing the younger you are the faster ya want things to happen and as we age the slower we want things to happen. :D

Old guy here! .....well.....early 40's anyway. BUT, For me I was excited as it was somthing new.

I think it's called light phases or just phases or something like that, which is just an image... on the SGN, it's a real live wallpaper.

I got it from an ICS theme for a launcher that I was using before we got ICS... don't need it now but it's an option for selection.

The widget runs cool, but for some reason when you are in the settings, it seems to warm the phone up a bit!

The chrome rings is inspired from another phone recently released or releasing, I just can't remember which one it's from.
 
I do find most of the widgets really boring these days, only other one that I liked was through beautiful widgets, this is emotisun or emoti...something. This was on the SGN:

My phone just updated to ICS. I have kind of a dumb question...but the text messaging format is different from GB, and it shows my contacts pictures to the side of each message, as a conversation. However, there is no picture for myself (it's blank). When I push my own icon it just says that 'this contact does not exist'. I don't really understand why it's saying that. My name and number are saved in my contact list, and it's attached to google plus and facebook accounts with my picture. Is there anyway to fix it?:confused:

Update your "me" account in people. Add photo there. Enjoy.

I went through the same thing and was like WTF!
