Ok... After setting your APN's. Toggle your airplane mode If you are rooted n have a way to clear cache n dalvik do so... Then try to untoggle ur airplane mode search for network manually n select metro lte n rebbot your ph again if it doesn't work go to metro website n look for signal booster input ur ph# they will reformat your network radio signal (OTA) over the air without flashing or sending you a software stuffT-Mobile

faI have a Sony Xperia Z3c unlocked and it has band 2 & 4.
What do I have to do just take it to the Metro store and they'll hook it up for me or what. I'm just trying not to have any issues you know. Do I have to do it myself? IDK!
question: i participated in a verizon device recycle program and netted myself a good chunk of change. ive spent most of it already but have enough for a 200-300 phone off their website. the one im looking at is the samsung galaxy prime core.
its a 4gLTE factory unlocked phone. it has band 4, which i believe is required for LTE.

what issues will i have, aside from maybe having to input the APN for metro/tmobile?
I got the Leon when I switched from Virgin Mobile, and within a month I switched over to a t-mobile unlocked G3. so it was within the 3 month thing they have. I believe you can.Does anyone know if you go to a Metro store and do the port over promotion to get the Leon for free, can you immediately change over to a BYOD device afterwards? Or it won't work that way?
its an in-store deal only and i cannot find any information on itTry online 1st but I doubt it
i tried but, immediately got a "no. only on 40 a month or more." When I read the TOS to my understanding, I should be able to use any compatible phone with any plan. Correct me if im wrong. Not allowed on BYOP.
TOS is about Service, which has nothing to do with Terms of Sale.i tried but, immediately got a "no. only on 40 a month or more." When I read the TOS to my understanding, I should be able to use any compatible phone with any plan. Correct me if im wrong.
Planning to make the jump from Straight Talk next month before my plan expires. Going to get the $60 unlimited plan. Bringing my Nexus 6. Hope it won't be a pain getting tethering to work.
Same with me and my Moto G; I have no problems tethering. At least 1 person on this forum has a post and multiple responses about the issues they are running into with either a Nexus 5 or 6 and tethering. I have had no issues tethering with 2 OnePlus Ones and a Moto E. All 3 of these phones worked without any modications or settings changed and I never had the old tethering plan.
Hey guys! I purchased a Huawei Mate 7 a couple months ago and it's working great with Metro. My only problem is that short codes are no longer working! Before BYOD I had an LG L9 and I use to get all my short code texts, that's no longer the case. Anyone else having this problem when using BYOD on Metro? I've called them and according to them there is no block, so that leaves me wondering what the heck is wrong?
Any help will be greatly appreciated!
I'm surprised to hear that you've had problems with 3 different phones. I have 2 byod phones (my Moto G 1st gen and my wife's Fire Phone) on MetroPCS and both work great. Now, I've never tried the short codes or any of the other Metro plan options (not even when I had metro branded phones) so I don't know about that. But we both get data and voice and text and MMS with no problems. Not sure what you have tried. I did find this on YouTube. Trust out and see if this is your problem. I have to say I have had no luck with Metro PCS and their BYOD program. Three differentbphones I have tried and not one has functioned fully.

Please explain what short code messages are. I've been with metro since '11 and have never used them. I knew about them and that they were part of my plan, but I just never tried then out. So what are they and why are they so important?Thank you, but unfortunately I've already tried that. Mine already shows up as "Always Allow". This is soooo annoying. I can't get short code messages from my bank anymore and that's really important. I would hate to have to switch carriers after being with Metro for so many years.
