[Official] Nexus 6 Accessory Thread

Hi @Wardcalis, welcome to Android Forums :)

The problem you are going to have with a bulky case and belt clip is the farther you are from the induction coils, the lower the voltage is generated. These things are very sensitive and it doesn't take much for these to not work at all. I'm not saying it's impossible, but it's going to be tough to find a combination of all three.

Thank you for your swift response. I think I'll try this case I linked 7/7 5star ratings. it'll be worth a look

Looking to replace my spigen ultra hybrid clear. Its turned burnt yellow on the sides, top and bottom and has become scuffed up . any suggestions? Want to stay under $20.

Yikes!

That's the case I use (for the last 8 months) and haven't seen any discoloration. Have you tried contacting Spigen about it? it sounds defective. If that's the form factor you want in a case, I'd still recommend it.

I purchased this...

...and it just came today. I really dislike cases, but this one is really nice. It's form fitting, makes the phone easier to hold (it's less slippery) and the built in screen protector is of a much higher quality than I expected for the price. WELL worth the $20.
I just ordered that case, (white version) and can't wait to try it out. Along with that, I bought 8 other cases to bring my total to around 35 cases for the Nexus 6. Once I get all of them delivered, I'm going to start a thread with pics of all of them over at XDA. I'll post a link over here once I'm done for anyone interested.

My only concern with the supcase is that I use a glass screen protector that is pretty thick. I planned on removing the built-in protector though. But the glass protector may interfere with the front part of the case that covers the top and bottom. I may have to go back to a thin plastic protector. (which I don't really want to do)

Yes I am almost certain I have the spigen SP's, I ordered the alum white spigen case and it came with a single unmarked Screen Protector, and now that you mention it and I'm looking and there are no front cutouts at all besides the Dual SS Speakers. However unlike the ones I picked up at Verizon, they do cover the entire glass panel which I can accept as a tradeoff. My VZW SP's we odds. The entire top was covered with the exception of the speaker, FFC, and light sensor cutouts but the bottom of the glass was completely exposed beyond the screen portion of the glass. I'm not 100% positive if the soft buttons were covered out not so i won't comment there however below then there was no protection at all, so if it was dropped or was pressed against some Key's in my pocket the SP would only defend the screen portion. Like I said, I forget if the soft keys were covered but still I can accept the Front Facing Camera & Light Sensor being covered as a trade for the bottom of the screen being covered up.

To bad this part is a year old and probably irrelevant now.

Did anyone get the Spigen screen protectors? I noticed that theres no cutout for the front camera. Would that affect the camera at all?

OK never thought I'd type this. Does anyone know of a selfie stick that works with this huge @$$ phone? I never thought I'd want one but we are going on a cruise in 24 days and the wife and I would like to have one.

Anyone?
Bueller?

Looks like I was too late. ;)

I'm ready to pull the trigger on buying a new Nexus 6 except I want to make sure I can get a holster/case that fits my needs:

1 - holster style so it can be clipped onto belt.
2 - case has to provide a flat back so I can set the phone down on the desk/table and use it.

Has anyone seen anything like this?
Thanks in advance.

Standard protection setup for me.....

After doing my own review of the options, I did in fact order the Supcase Unicorn Beetle case with Holster as suggested above.

My review:
  • Sturdy construction. Very good protection.... on par with otterbox I'd say. Naturally that adds some size.
  • The holster works, but it's not easy to get the phone in and out (compared to Seidio holsters i've used for other phones).
  • The built-in screen protector is worthless (too much glare)...I'll toss that and use my own screen protector. No big deal.
  • Flat bottom for stable use on a table? Ummm, not quite ;) (see my video).

Overall, I'd say it's a great value for the price, and I'm certainly going to hold onto it. I'll also keep looking for a more perfect case/holster that has flat bottom (for use on table) with better holster that allows quickly stowing and retrieving the phone.

EDIT 1/3/16 - After using the case since last year (i.e. 4 days):
  • I haven't had any problem using it on a flat surface in spite of the curve on the back. So that's not a problem (sorry to make a big deal about it above).
  • I also like the cutout hole in back... about 1/4" deep extending from camera down to Moto logo. When using the phone one-handed I put my pointer finger into that hole and it helps me stabilize the phone. A nice feature.
