$719 no contract price? Yikes!
Edit: Amazon is $599
Be careful with Amazon, if you buy under contract from them and cancel your service before 6 months they charge you an EXTRA $250 on top of AT&T's ETF. Not sure if that is worth the $50 savings you get from them.
Amazonwireless.com is selling the sgs2 for $149 for new customers and upgrades.
My local Radio Shack has them for $199.
My local Wal Mart does not have them in stock, and doesn't know when they'll get them.
Local Costco also doesn't have any.

Because they don't have them today that means they won't have them? Give them a couple days. At least until tomorrow (Mon).Looks like Costco wont be getting the GS2. It does not have it online either![]()

I called around local stores furiously Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Costco, Best Buy, WalMart, and Target all said they would be getting the phone but NOT on release day. Radio Shack in the mall had them in stock by Saturday, but couldn't sell them till Sunday. Radio Shack closest to me didn't know what I was talking about.
I was about to call it quits and just order from amazonwireless when I checked out my local AT&T store on Sunday. They had them in stock, for $199. BUT, they were giving away a free case (blah), a free car charger (meh), and either a free "premium" bluetooth headset or a free 16gb SD card. Since I already had a 16gb SD card, I went with the bluetooth headset. They let me pick out pretty much any headset I wanted in the entire store. They recommended a Motorola one that cost $99. For free. I felt like I got a pretty good deal.
Oh, and the lady who sold it to me was nice enough to ask me if I wanted her to transfer contacts and set it up for me. I asked if it was possible to get it in a box unopened, since I already had a 4g SIM card from a previous Thrill upgrade. She had absolutely no problem with that and let me have it unopened in the box. And she gave me her cell number to call if I had any problems. I'm telling you, if I wasn't happily married I probably would have called her to ask her out, she was that nice (and knowledgeable). I couldn't believe it.
The assistant manager came by to ask if everything was going OK. I asked him if something strange was going on because this was very un-AT&T-like to give me free stuff, be utterly pleasant, and agree to everything I asked for. He just kinda laughed. Told him I was very pleased, and thanked both of them for the great experience I had. It was really surreal.

Isn't MO the "Show Me" State? Well, I say SHOW ME!
Here in NJ the only thing they give you is the receipt, you're lucky to even get a bag. By the way, every ATT store here has plenty. Store I was in today says they aren't selling probably due to the big iPhone announcement tomorrow.

What store in Missouri did you go to? I want this deal!!!
You probably talked to Ellen. She's been there for years, and is the most knowledgeable ATT rep I've ever had the pleasure to deal with. She knows the internal customer management and provisioning systems inside and out. I don't live in that area and I make the drive just to have her deal with my account whenever I have upgrades, as I have a somewhat complicated profile (bundled billing/services, corporate affiliation (FAN #), grandfathered unlimited data plan, etc.) and she's managed to keep and stack my discounts better than anyone else I've ever run across.
I'm glad to hear she's still there, and deserves all of the customer service praise. And yeah, I can confirm she's pretty easy on the eyes too. There's a lucky guy out there somewhere, I'm sure.
No, the business card is Kellie Medcalf.
The phone showed up for AT&T on Costco.com yesterday afternoon.
I ordered it and paid $149.99. The customer rep said that it was going to be available online only for the first two weeks.
Interesting, I just checked again and now the phone isn't listed online.
