Help [OFFICIAL] Verizon OTA Update Thread

Curious, because I haven't found anything about it yet. But I was prompted to install a small update late last night, which I did. That put my Note8 on version N950USQS3BRB1

I found this article about the Android 8 rollout resuming to the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus:

https://androidcommunity.com/androi...out-again-for-the-samsung-galaxy-s8-20180223/

I'm hopeful that this is a minor update that Samsung pushed out to smooth the way for the larger Android 8 update to come. I'll assume that, because it's a great way to start my day...

:D

I applied the update this morning. Prior to applying it my SD card worked great. After the update it states my SD card is corrupted and or not inserted. I would hold off applying this update for a little bit. I am working with Verizon and Samsung to determine what the issue is and how to correct it.

I'm on Verizon in NC and got the update this morning.

@Kevin Graves ... I took the update before reading your post and after completion, SD card is working fine. I know this doesn't help, but at least know it is not a new "feature" of the update.

Thanks for the info.....I just love to feel special lol

On the phone with Samsung right now to determine what in the world happened

I received the update around 2am CST and when I googled the patch number, it returned 1 useless result. Was slightly alarming that no one had any information on the update, but I guess I'm the minority. I was too tired to care so I installed it and went to bed. All is fine.

Yeah, that's odd that your SD card would go out due to the update... cosmic coincidence, maybe? Because my phone and card are working fine as well...

Discussion for Verizon Note 8 Variant OTA (Over The Air) Updates

Just got this. It's not oreo. Why do they waste their time? Unless oreo is alot further than we thought

I sent a DM to Verizon on Twitter:

"Hi there, Verizon folks - I understand that the Android 8 Oreo update is beginning to roll out to Galaxy Note8 devices, at least on other networks. The update is reportedly packaged with the March security patch. Do you have a general timeframe in which owners of the Verizon Note8 can expect the update?"

The brilliant Verizon response:

"Software updates can be exciting, and we want to make sure your phone receives the update. Please understand that updates are pushed out over time so that they do not overload the systems. You should receive an alert on your phone when it's your turn. You can also check for updates by following the link: http://spr.ly/6018DTT7s"

BTW, don't bother looking at that website, because that's a link to a list of updates that have already been pushed out. Essentially, I asked Verizon when we can generally expect the update... and the official response was "when your phone gets it".
