Offline maps download. NEXUS 7.2???

What am I missing? Can I not download maps for offline use on N7.2?

New version of Google Maps took the option off the screen, there is now a round-about way of caching the map:

1- Open Google Maps and search for the area you want to cache (or just zoom in on it).
2- Tap the search bar.
3- Type "OK Maps" in the search bar.
4- Tap the search icon.

And the next question:

How do you delete a cached map???

This is not the least bit intuitive. Google really screwed the pooch on this one.

My biggest gripe is not being able to enter multiple destinations when getting directions in browser.

you could try a sat nav app that stores the maps. The one I use is NavFree. As the names says its free

you don't need to type ok maps anymore.
When you click on the search bar, at the bottom in blue letters it will say "add to offline maps". Just click on that.

I have no clue how to manage maps because I had 5 cached and would be good if I can just click on one instead of flipping through countries.

Trying to use Google Maps for anything useful is a waste of time.

NavFree is the way to go. You can download an entire state at a time, not just a little 20 square mile area. NavFree works great off-line, and the downloaded maps can be used and stored in your memory card, if your device supports them.
