Ok Google galaxy s8

Is it possible to get ok Google  to work when the screen is asleep on the galaxy s8?

Sure!
There may be another way, but here is how I get to it.

Go to google on your device, hit the hamburger menu (the 3 lines), hit settings, then voice, then "ok google" detection, the click on the "Say ok Google anytime" option. You'll see the description there whereby you can say "ok google" when the screen is off
