"OK Google" not opening Google Maps

Hello,
I have my phone successfully set up so I can say "OK Google, set an alarm for 8pm" or "OK Google, call home" and it just works. But if I say "OK Google, navigate to London", it just comes up with some search results. How do I make it trigger the maps app? I've signed in to the Google maps app, and accepted all the "allow Google to harvest all my data, make wild (but frighteningly accurate) assumptions about me and sell it all to the highest bidder" agreements.

As much as I hate to do it, I have also checked in Privacy Guard that the Google App and the Maps app can just go in and access and control every possible detail of my phone.

I have Cyanogenmod installed - maybe that's causing the problem, but I can't find any mention of this problem on the cyanogenmod forum.

Any suggestions, anyone?

Thanks in advance,

Paul

Hi
Do you have location services turned on? ( I know seems basic, but you'd be surprised, my mom constantly turns it off and doesn't turn it back on and wonders why her directions don't work)

I tried on my phone, doing "ok google navigate to.. " and said a local town to me. It pulled up options, but if i waited a few seconds, it would automatically go to maps and start the directions.
Perhaps you're not waiting long enough for it to get to that point?
Maybe the Cyanogenmod is causing problems as I don't use that. I have Lollipop.

Thanks for the reply, eiranbryn.

Huh. Well, I thought I'd go ahead and check it again today, and lo and behold it works! Maybe it was because I did a reboot earlier today (the camera app froze). I, too have Android 5.0.2 (I dislike the codenames given to software versions - I find it much easier to figure out if 'version 5' is newer than 'version 4', rather than remembering things like Lollipop, Kitkat, etc. Apple is the worst offender with its ridiculous Mountain Lion, Lion, Leopard...!).

Maybe the Cyanogenmod was causing the problem, and the reboot fixed it. When I get the chance to spend a while tinkering with the phone I'd like to remove it. It seems to offer very few benefits.

you're welcome.
I only know it was Lollipop because a big lollipop showed up on the screen. LOL
yes 5.0.2 is much easier to remember it's an upgrade from 4.4.2 without remembering the "name"
