Help OK Google while screen is locked

Rossage84

Lurker
Is it possible to turn off OK Google voice recognition to not pick up commands when the phone is locked? I still want to be able to use it when the phone is unlocked. It keeps kicking on during meetings saying that it could not understand me.

Thanks
Ross

Go to the Google search page on your phone by swipping right until you see it or hold down the circle button at the bottom of your phone to activate the page.
  1. Now select the options button at the top of the page,
  2. Settings,
  3. Voice,
  4. OK Google detection,
  5. Unselect Always on.

Thank you for the response. That is what I thought the answer was, but I actually already have all of those switched to off? It is definitely still detecting my voice when the phone is locked?

There have been a number of instances recently where voice detection was occurring even though it was switched off. They were resolved by 'uninstalling updates' to the Google app, reverting to the 'Factory version' followed by updating again so it may be worth trying.
