Got the NC today. Screwed around with it unrooted and determined that as an e-reader, my Kindle kicks it's scrawny little ass. I wanted to root it anyway, so I did. I ran the 1.0.1 system update first on the Nook, confirmed it worked, then rooted it. Everything came up fine. I did a backup of all my apps on my phone, copied it to an SD card and restored everything to the Nook. No problems there. Only issue I've got with that is I now have apps on the Nook that I don't need as they're not relevant at all to a tablet (call blocking apps, car finder, GPS test, etc.........) No biggie I can go through and uninstall them.
My issue is that I can't add any apps to the home screen. Not sure why. Widgets work, but shortcuts to apps don't. I can see all of them under extras. I can't add them using Zeam (which I like better) or Launcher Pro. In Zeam I long press on the home screen background and go go Add Item >> shortcut. It just goes back to the home screen. In Launcher Pro I long press then go to shortcuts. Same thing happens. It just goes back to the home screen. Widgets still work, but shortcuts to apps don't. I know I'm missing something here and I'm fairly certain there is user error involved. Can someone help me out please?
