Old Contacts in to Smart Contacts

I just upgraded to a new HTC Desire 626s. I exported my contacts from my old phone and saved them to the SD card. The new phone has Yahoo's Smart Contacts. It has loaded the contact list with 100s of people I don't know, but I can't figure out how to import my old contacts. All of my text history just shows phone numbers because they are orphaned from my contact list.

How do import my contact list in to Smart Contacts?

Greg

If you open the regular contacts app (i.e. open the phone dialer then go to the People tab), then open the app settings (3 dot button and select "manage contacts" then import/export and you can import them to the phone's phonebook).

I know nothing about Yahoo "smart contacts", so all I can suggest there is to look at that app's settings and see whether it has an import option. If it hasn't, is there a way of managing your Yahoo contacts from a computer? If so you may be able to copy the vcard file to the computer then import it into a contact app there or directly upload to Yahoo. Just guessing - I could import to Google that way, but have never used Yahoo.

Thanks. I found it after posting. I thought that Yahoo Smart Contacts and Smart Phone had replaced Phone and People in this new version of Android. Smart Contacts forced me through the set up during the phone initialization process and the Smart Phone was on the tray instead in the Android phone icon. I have no idea where Smart Contacts found 75% of the people it loaded in to the list.

Thanks,

Greg
