Help Old SDCARD Problem

ltbrew04

Lurker
Not sure if this has been addressed on any of the other Threads but couldn't hurt to try. Looking for help so hopefully I get it. Just got my S3 and had it less than a week so still trying to figure things out with it.

So I had an HTC Incredible (the first one, mad old), worked fine and everything til I dropped it on the ground and the LCD itself died and I couldnt see anything, the outer glass was fine so it would still turn on and I could receive calls because I knew what to hit/touch to answer. Anyways, I had an old 16 gb Sandisk micro SDHC card in there with all of my music, photos, and movies from the past 4 years which are pretty valuable to me. Which worked fine and I had no problems with. So I drop the phone and I need to get a new one, Im due for an upgrade so I get the S3.

Well I am trying to put the old card into the S3 and it doesnt recognize it, it doesnt even allow me to mount it or anything, the entire option is dark. I go to the internet and research saying you got to format it and its found as the extsdcard in file explorer. Roger got that. And in Astro I can find it as extsdcard but it says there is nothing in it and it wont even allow me to format it because it doesnt mount. I put it into an adapter to insert into my laptop and it doesnt find it either. I tried it with a blank sd card and it finds that but for some reason it isnt finding my old sd card that was working less than 7 days ago.

I need to recover all of the files from my old sdcard, and of course I guess I didnt back them up using backup assistant so I am dumb for not doing that. Looking to see if anyone else had the same problem, do I need to get the screen fixed in my old phone to try to recover it or am I just screwed? I feel like I have tried everything and am running out of options. I need those files and the card isnt being recognized in anything. Please help. Greatly appreciated.

Try putting the Sd card in your your old phone, hook it up to your computer and save the files on your computer. Then hook your new phone up to the computer and move the files to it.

Tried that. My computer recognizes the phone (while the SDcard is in it), but when I open the folder nothing with the SDcard is present thus not allowing me to access any of my files.
