Six months ago I bought my first android phone. I had an iPhone my company provided but didn't think much of it. After 40 years in computing and the last 28 years as a Unix sys admin, the constraints of the Apple environment were a bit much.
Now, after spending some time with both, I can see there are some advantages to the iPhone, more with the Android, and both tend to have some of the same annoyances. The one thing that irks me the most is that despite all the hoopla about an open OS, you still void the warranty when you root the Android phone. While I expect that from Apple, I hoped for better with Google.
