Help On an old AOKP, what should I update to?

Jeffery

Android Enthusiast
I have been using AOKP, but when I went to d/l and update on rootzwiki I got a 404 message.

I have titanium for backup, what's the best ROM to flash if AOKP is not around?

Milestone 6 is out, but they recommend a wipe if coming from m5.

You should be able to DL it via the goo app.

What version are you running?

BTW, m6 is end of the road for now, until JB comes out. Some speculate that'll be in about a week. I have my doubts. If it is released, call it unstable or not at all feature complete.

Just intalled M6 on my patent's touchpad, they had CM-alpha 3, and I can't turn wifi on or connect to my computer via USB (it connects, but won't copy anything).

Any suggestions?

Holy cow, A3? :D

You wiped data?

You set the date and time in settings?

If that doesn't help, I'd wipe data, both caches and flash again.

Wiped data, both caches, and flashed again. Still no wifi, it says turning on and never does.

Wifi works in WebOS though.

Have you tried other wi-fi's?

Are you're sure there's nothing on this one that restricts access to certain mac addresses?

Have you tried rebooting the router?

What nightly did you install?

I'd try a different nightly.

Sorry, I was thinking CM9 nightlies, forgot you had aokp. (Can't keep two posts separate). :D

Did it work?

Do they still have two two moboot entries, one for CM9 (which doesn't work) and one for AOPK. Never liked that since it filled up my boot partition, causing trouble. I like to keep both TWRP and CWM recoveries.

Yes two moboot entries and it's annoying b/c I can't edit moboot.default, so it defaults to CyanogenMod. I've tried multiple different file explorers i.e. root explorer, etc. to try and change file permissions, but none of them will change the boot folder.

I use Root Explorer all the time to update that folder. There's a webOS app that will change it too, but you need to have other things installed too. (Sorry, I don't use webOS.)

Make a backup in recovery. :D
Open Root Explorer, goto to \boot, tap the R/W button at the top, long press on your file and choose edit. Tap the button at the top when done and reboot.

While you're in there, make a note of what the free space is (maybe at the top).

If you have a custom moboot background, etc. or like I do (TWRP & CWM), the free space could be 0, which would cause moboot issues.

BTW, boot is backed up when you create a backup in recovery, so if you mod this and restore a backup, you'll get whatever was backed up.
