Onavo Help. Data Allowance.

Hi,

I have a problem with this app on my Samsung Galaxy S2. According to the app I have used 5mb this week but I haven't browsed or used social networking once. On the 'app watch' I can only see around 1mb of data used.*
Things such as dialer, task manager and call settings have apparantly used 3kb but i didnt think these things used data?
Why isn't onavo showing me where all this data is going?

Do you have any help please? *

Thank you

Wi-fi is off as is background data, auto sync and gps.

300kb used this morning but only 44kb showing on my monitor.

Maybe onavo isnt accurate?

Perhaps and perhaps not. I doubt that the dialer is what's using the data it should just be using battery instead. I do believe I read somewhere, that it has to do with Gingerbread maybe, I'm not sure. I know my phones dialer sometimes never closes on my battery usage, so I would try resetting your phone and see if that helps.

My phone is more or less brand new which is weird.

Ive used 500kb this morning but i havent touched anything that would use data. Worried about this.

What is google services framework?

Probably just some apps pinging for connection. Just expect maybe 3mb a day of usage even if you don't touch the phone, more if you have apps that sync (Contacts app for example has the sync to Google feature).

Maybe.

Onavo tells me video maker has used 16kb. Surely this doesnt use data?

Also in app watch I can only count 356kb so I duno why my daily usage is 1.1mb...

I've found that Onavo actually overestimates data use. With all the great reviews everywhere I thought it would be a good app. When I'd gone over my 1GB limit last month, I found I was still able to use my Web Browser; called my phone provider and discovered that I still had 300MB. This has been a consistent problem for me, since Onavo blocks data usage once you're 'over the limit'. Although I guess, it's probably better than underestimating data usage...however, it would be nice to find an app that is accurate. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I have been using onavo for about two weeks and found it to be so wrong in its reporting of data usage that it is just not worth using.
There are better solutions out there like 3g watchdog.

I use onavo, seems to be very close, considering update lag etc.

I check it against the AT&T usage monitor at #3282*

If you do not have AT&T perhaps your carrier has something similar.
