Root One-click root for 2.3.4 not doing anything...?

So I've been trying the one-click root method that's known to work with the droid x2 (i'm on 2.3.4) and every time I go through the process, my phone never ends up rooted (no superuser icon, I've tried checking through opening titanium backup but nothing).

Any help to get me to stop spinning my tires?

I'm not sure if your phone is actually going through the processes.
- Did you verify that you did these 3 steps?
1. Make sure you have Motorola drivers installed
2. Download the MotorolaOneClickRoot.zip file from above and unzip it to your Windows PC.
3. On your phone go into Settings>Applications>Development and check the box for USB Debugging.
4. Plug phone into your computer and select “Charge Only” mode.
- According to the steps is your phone performing multiple resets? Are you seeing any error messages?

If not try this method HERE

I have verified that I've done all of those steps, and yes the phone performs 1-2 (it varies) resets per attempt.

I'm gonna try the link you just posted and see

Alright that's very odd but the link you posted works and I'm now rooted. Thanks! I'm still wondering about the solution to the problem but I'm glad this method works.

i've tried the one click it did all the steps. Before the update it was rooted now it won't root. This is what it tells me permission denied in local data. I'vre tried factory reset to get rid of the superuser but it still there when i reboot my phone help if you can/
