this link has the cwm bootloop fix zip. download that and put on your sd card incase you ever have to use the button combo to enter cwm.

incase you ever have to u se the button combo to enter cwm? what is that? what happens? can u explain? and also after i download it do i just press the bat one? how about the files and the drivers?

For most people, using the button combo to enter CWM causes the phone to always reboot into clockwork and never load the phone OS. flashing that zip file from clockwork fixes it.

i am about to install broken out . but http://androidforums.com/spectrum-a...ken-out-spectrum-3-0-w-blitzkrieg-kernel.html <<< do i just have to download version 3.0? or the whole thing?

Couple of ways to do it:

1) Using the AllInOne, plug in your device, debugging enabled etc., select option (7).
2) install app like ROM ToolBox or Titanium Backup. In these apps, there is an option to reboot phone and then there will be a sub-menu giving you the option to reboot into recovery.

As far as broken out, i'd recommend downloading the latest version. You only need to get 3.0 and install that zip.

I've tried this unsuccessfully several times. Every time I run the .bat to either root or root and CWM I get:

*daemon not running. starting it now*
*daemon started successfully*

And the process stops there. Nothing happens with the phone; nothing happens with the cmd prompt window where the .bat / .exe files are running.

Information:

I have installed the drivers that come along with the root pack (on my Windows 7 desktop), USB debugging mode is on, the phone is connected to my desktop via USB with internet/ethernet enabled. I'm running the ZV6 build but I've heard that others have not had a problem with this. Any thoughts or suggestions? Would love to play around with this while I wait for ICS but I'm having no luck. Thanks everyone!

Start the process as normal and unplug the phone... Let it say deamon started successfully and the plug the phone back in... Change it to internet/ethernet USB debugging enabled and see if it recognizes... I did have an issue with it hanging randomly sometimes but I have just rooted my phone again yesterday after a nasty mishap with the ics leak...

Brilliant. Worked like a charm.

Hello, I've been having a lot of trouble with this whole flashing roms process. I've never been able to get to the cwm recovery screen/menu. Everytime I press 7 with the all in one tool, my phone reboots and gets stuck at the LG screen. I made sure I had debugging on and it was connected via ethernet but still nothing. I'm sorry, I might be missing something here since I'm pretty new to this whole rooting process. Any help?

Download ROM tool box or ROM manager and use that to reboot into recovery or use option 7 and unplug the phone as soon as it powers down and you see the LG screen multiple tries may be needed...if it blacks out just hold power down and retry

I've tried rebooting from ROM manager before and it still goes to the LG screen. I downloaded ROM toolbox and tried rebooting from there as well as option 7 + unplugging at LG screen but it all gives me the same result. I just tried option 7 three times and none of them worked. Sorry for the trouble, I just want to try out the broken out rom.

Did you install cwm from the program. Rooting the phone isn't enough, you have to install cwm as well. Make sure you install from the all in one, not ROM manager.

Are you using windows through bootcamp, or a virtual copy running under osx like parallels? What version of windows? If vista/7, make sure you right click and run the script as administrator.

Is it possible to use the command prompt from OSX? If so, then try the Linux scripts.

Www. Joelperryproductions.com/spectrum/rooting

There are separate scripts for installing CWM with or without root. If you don't want the hosts file just rename it before running the script. All it does is redirect ads and known malware URLs back to the localhost (your phone), saves on data, prevents websites from tracking you, and loads pages faster. There are no redirects to anywhere except back to your phone.

Helpppp! I think I bricked my spectrum last night. I did the root, installed the rom manager and when I installed the clockworkmod, it restarted my phone and all it does now is continuously reboot over and over again. I did a factory reset by holding the power and vol down key, now it boots to the language screen for 2 sec and reboot continuously. Someone, please, I desperately need your help! Think I'll just die without my phone.....;-(

Where in any directions did u read to use rom manager????? Geeezzz people read before flashing anything. Browse through the threads in the all things root section, there should a thread with directions to return to v4 stock through download mode. Do that and start over, and FOLLOW DIRECTIONS!
