One favourite android app?

My best effort is switching to 2g only if the signal is low and still low 30 seconds later. To be honest, that one started to annoy me so its disabled. Also I'm not convinced it ever undid.back to 3g preferred either

I tried out the calendar one, that was nice, don't know how much I'd use it.
Most complicated one I used was to automatically reply to received texts during set hours with a busy message.

Here are the egg timer tasks (XML) I've put in my public dropbox. NOTE: Icon packs Green Floral HD and Glossy Silver HD are utilized for these two tasks. You can either replace the icons with ones you already have available (green hourglass, silver hourglass, and green thumbs up) or download them from the market.

Short egg timer - This is a good example of a single eight minute timer loop with vocalizations and notification bar updates. It will process through the steps and then end.

Long egg timer - This is a good example of a double loop timer. The first loop is a five minute timer loop followed by a ten minute timer loop. Vocalizations and notification bar updates are included.

If nothing else, they're just (older) Tasker code examples. I'll be adding other tasks to my public dropbox and posting links (and continuing my thread hijacking!) as I get a chance.

EDIT: Aaaaaaand... I've never used my dropbox public folder before so all that's showing you is the xml file. I thought it would let you download. :p

Why not?
I use this not-quite-finished app too.

Its one of the poorest apps I've ever used. Its no way near as good as tapatalk (which it replaced). So restrictive, so unreliable, so buggy. Thats why hundreds of people campaigned to get tapatalk re-enabled. And it has been and it is great!

For general usage its perfectly fine.
For me, no need in paying for tapatalk since this is the only forum that I use.
Also, what kind of bugs? I've been using this for a while now and never had issues.

Not used tapatalk as I already have XDA and Phandroid. But yeah, the Phandroid app is not great, especially the current version: that was so bad I restored a previous version from Ti and then detached it from the market (occasionally check to see if it's been updated, but hadn't last time I looked).

I already owned XDA app (which is tapatalk based) and bought tapatalk just for this forum (Its that good). Although not trying to get you to give them your money...

Latest Phandroid:

  • Huge memory footprint.
  • when pressing home, the app restarts leaving you having to navigate all the way back to where you were instead of opening there by default
  • Sometimes thank buttons are missing
  • Sometimes edit buttons on my posts are missing
  • Sometimes it loses my entire post due to network connectivity and cannot be retrieved
  • Slow performance - Have to back out and go back into threads again to get them to load properly.

Just off the top of my head like. But also, anything else listed here:

Phandroid Applications - Android Forums

Also one of my biggest bug bears was its so white. I have an amoled screen so that uses so much more power than black tapatalk. For SLCD probably no big deal, but I requested that so many times...

Copy thread URL and view in browser were huge omissions.

I suppose if I didn't access xda via the xda app, I would have been almost content. But everytime I realised I couldn't do something stupid on AF that I could on XDA, it just got to me.

It works perfectly well to keep tabs on threads on the go. It just never seems to update. Sure it could do with some polish but for the basics, it ticks all the boxes. But I agree wholeheartedly with the whiteness of it all.

The first app I reinstall after changing ROMs is either Facebook (because I love having photos linked to my contacts) or SwiftKey... so imma have to say that the latter is my favourite app, certainly much better suited to my style of typing than the default android keyboard.

I do enjoy using swiftkey though if I didn't have it, I could replace it with something else.
Tasker on the other hand has the ability to replace many apps

I barely ever use the Phandroid app but I notice the cache still goes up and up lol

mines gotta be tapatalk, its my most used app. i hated how phandroid used to lose your place and the xda app seemed slow to me on startup,
also swiftkey and gmail.

ohhh and gina the giraffe for the little un! ;)

But your point was tab clear

who else remembers this refreshing drink?
