One message becomes three

Okay so if I send my friend (who has an iPhone) a long text, the text does not go in one message but splits up and sends as several different ones. So basically I will send him one text but it will act like I am sending him three. Does anyone know why this happens and how I can end it? Thanks!

It happens because SMS (aka text) messages are limited to 140 characters per message. So long messages get split into multiple 140 character messages.

 

[Unforgiven]

You can choose to force it to an MMS message and it won't slit it up. Data rates may apply though.
