One more request for help concerning....

saving an email attachment on the Eris. I searched the threads and read one that stated a long hold of the file would bring up a menu with an option to save. This is not the case. PDF, word file, whatever. Can we not save them to the phone?

It is the case with the mail app, but not with the gmail app. However, you can download the attachments using gmail in the web browser, or you can set up your gmail account in the mail app, and save attachments from there. I'd personally suggest the browser - you can set a bookmark for gmail and just go right to it when you need to.
