one touch settings app

i've gotten to know my Thunderbolt phone to the point where at my typical usage (which i'm sure is minimal compared to others) i can get around 18-24 hrs of battery life before i need to recharge. this requires that i turn things on or off based on where i am etc.
is there an app that would let me configure custom settings and save them w/ a name like "Car", "Home", "Work", etc. so that i just need to pick the configuration i want?

Tasker is the app you want. I don't think the learning curve is that much, if you have done anything with a programing language then you can grasp it quickly.

I guess that's my problem with Tasker. I have no programming language knowledge or experience. :(

It isn't required but the foundation is simmilar. Have you done any of the stepthroughs on their wiki?

I tried, but I was still confused. :o

FYI I've rooted and unrooted my D2G, hacked my WDTV Live Plus and Wii etc., so I'm not a total dope. I just didn't have the patience to spend hours to try and set up Tasker the right way.

BTW sorry for the hijack, OP.

thanks for the input. tasker has been the answer to a number of app questions i've seen on here. seems to have a broad range of abilities. i've got experience w/ C and matlab programing but nothing with linux or the android language(s). i may play around with it though.
