Help One X wifi issues

Had my one x for a month now, and absolutely love it. The only thing I've noticed, is my WiFi signal is crap to say the least!! My wife's iPhone 4S WiFi signal is sooo much better. My router is in my dining room, and I struggle for signal in my living room, which is next door! My wife's iPhone gets WiFi signal in the garden, but my One x doesn't even detect the router, so it switches to mobile network....
Does anyone else suffer from this or know a fix for it?? My phone is a UK model on a T-mobile contract. It did a software update the moment it was out of the box. Just looked to see if there were anymore updates, and my phones up to date!
Please help, as its really bugging me and I'm losing patients with this so called state of the art phone!!

Try installing WiFi Analyzer and see if there are any other networks in the area that use the same channel that your router does. That can generally sort a number of WiFi issues.

You can also try giving yourself a static IP and checking Best WiFi Performance in the Advance Wireless settings menu (you might take a hit on battery though).
