Help ONLY home WiFi is extremely slow/nonresponsive

NewSoul

Lurker
Here's the deal. My home WiFi works terrific for most devices. On my phone, it started to work like crap several weeks ago. I have not installed any weird apps.

It started with the Facebook and YouTube apps not loading (but YouTube mobile worked fine), and now I cannot get pages to fully load in Chrome. 4G works beautifully. My school WiFi network works fantastically. I have no idea why my home network does not function when all other connected devices work perfectly fine.

Also a few days ago I noticed my phone started to get very laggy and apps have been crashing often.

I just rooted today, if that helps aid in diagnosis/fixing of the problem. I am trying Greenify to see if it fixes lag issues, but I am most concerned with the WiFi.

I have tried:
1. restarting my phone
2. forgetting and re-adding the network
3. toggling airplane mode/WiFi
4. rebooting the router
5. rebooting the modem

Thanks. This issue is really puzzling.

I would try wiping the cashes and then d/l a speed test from playstore and check the speeds. you can test wifi and data speeds. As a last resort, back up your personal data and try a factory reset.

On the phone, in "settings/storage " tick "Default write Disk" to sd card.
Then in "settings/applications" under "All" tab go to each app and tick
"Move to SD on all apps that will let you move to SD.
This should get your device working well. Then the problem Has to be on the router side. Hope this helps.
