Help Only some notifications come thru on WiFi

I have a Blu Studio C, with Android L (One of Blu's most recent budget phones, from Amazon), and I am having issues with push notifications from apps like Snapchat, Hangouts, and sometimes Gmail. I have to manually refresh the apps on my wifi network to receive any notifications. When I first got the phone a week ago, everything was fine! I got notifications for all the apps. About two days later, they all sorta stopped, except apps like Facebook, Messenger, and Google Plus kept working. I do not have mobile data yet, as my SIM card has not turned up in the mail yet. This has all taken place on my wifi network. My tablet, and Acer Iconia A1-830, has had no trouble relaying any notifications whatsoever. Why does my phone have issues? This is pretty frustrating, to have to manually refresh apps to get them. Thanks in advance for any help!

I noticed a difference after resetting my router. I got a flood of notifications, and then a day later, they all stopped again. I clearly don't want to reset my router ever two days just for notifications on wifi. How can I fix this? Can anyone reply?

If resetting your WiFi router fixes it, and it's happening again repeatedly. I'd suggest it could be the WiFi router that's at fault here. OK you haven't got wireless data at the moment because you're waiting for the SIM, do you have access to another WiFi network you could try?

Could be worth checking for firmware updates for your WiFi router, before trying another one.

So I was recently at my school, and connected to that WiFi. I got Hangouts notifications, but tested Snapchat on one of my friends phones and still had to manually refresh. I have also tried a factory reset on the phone, and nothing happened. Also, there is no new firmware for my router. Thanks for helping.

I reset my router again today, to see if that still allowed a temporary fix, but this time, it didn't fix anything. I still don't get notifications. I need this fixed soon! Could someone please chime in?

You're not using any kind of task killer app are you, things like Clean Master or Battery Optimizer? Because garbage snake oil apps like that can kill important background services, and so they won't give notifications.
