Oops! Need help restoring from nandroid

I just tried to change my build, and basically lost/broke everything. I had made a nandroid backup right before, but the recovery loader I was using got overwritten with a dev build that doesn't have a restore option, and the flashrec app I used to install it fails to flash.

How can I run the nandroid restore? need step-by-step.

You need the fastboot app, which can be downloaded from HTC, and the hero cm recovery image, which can be found all over the place.

power off the Hero, attach the USB cable, and boot the bootloader BACK+POWER, then fastboot the recover image from the PC; that will give you the prompt to restore.

You can possibly give my quide a chance ... it is a method of restoring
the Nandroid backup files from a PC rather than the automated way that Cyanogen has included in the recovery ( which is a blessing when all is well)
