OOPS! restore system file manually?

Newbie
So I rooted my phone and started deleting bloatware using Titainium Backup.
However I accidentally deleted the fm radio file and when I tried to restore it TB just hangs.
Then when I contacted Titanium support they said they don't support deletion of system apps.

So, anyone know any way for me to restore the radio?

Did you create a nandroid back in recovery after you rooted? Restoring a backup is the easiest way to fix something like this. If you did not create a backup you can try finding a stock ROM to install. What type of phone do you have?

Sorry to say, the only way to restore deleted system files is to reflash your phone with a stock rom.

I see you've posted frequently in the Samsung Galaxy W forums. If that's the phone you have, you might be able to find a suitable rom here.

Thanks chaps, yes it's a Galaxy w.

Unfortunately I was labouring under the misapprehension that, because Titan Backup has the word "backup" in its name, and it allows you to "backup" system files, that I would be able to restore them. So no nandroid I'm afraid.

Odd that it allows you to backup files it can't then restore.

If indeed you did back up your FM radio with Titanium Backup (backing up system apps is doable and an option), then you can restore if your /system area is set to read-write -> the default is read-only.

Try EStrongs File Explorer, preferences, set root explorer and set /system to read-write, back out using the Home key so the setting sticks, then try to restore using Titanium.

Either way, when done, go back into EStrongs and set /system back to read-only, and then exit EStrongs with the back key.

Hope this helps!

(I have restored system apps this way with Titanium and /system set to read-write, that was nearly two years ago, so hopefully, this still trick still works.)

Hi
in order to get your radio you must download "aptoide" application for android from m.aptoide.com
and then add all the stores and then search for the FM radio at aptoide stores and you will find it immediately.

And after finding the fm radio you need to make it a system app so download ''system/app/mover'' from google play and change fm radio from a normal app into system app
