Open documents with view mode

I have downloaded my CV but I cannot edit when need to . The message says it is edit protected and to switch to view mode. How do I do this ?
 
Either you saved the file as read only or the app you're using to read it doesn't have the capability to write, it's just a viewer. What you do and what you use to do it depends on the type of file it is. Something like Office Suite (not the free version) could probably edit the file. (The free version is a viewer only, not n editor.)
