Open Office

[ron177]

I wonder if Open Office is available on Android. I am a Linux user and would like to purchase an Android tablet. I wonder if I can work with the .odt documents I create on my PCs.

On a more general note, I wonder how people's experience has been with writing on Android tablets. Does an Android tablet address your basic Office needs while you're away from your computer?

I've heard that LibreOffice is working on an Android version. There is Kingsoft Office, which is free, and it claims to support 23 different file formats.

I have OfficeSuite Pro that I bought for like .99 during a sale but hardly use it on my phone or tablet. I was able to open some Doc files just to view mainly. I'm not sure if it will work with .odt format.

Documents To Go, Office Suite, Quick Office and Kingsoft provide document and spreadsheet functionality that works well with Microsoft Office. Some are better at it. My preference: Documents To Go and Office Suite. Quick Office spreadsheet does not open large spreadsheets; hence I rarely use it. Try the test mode the applications offer before buying.

you can try Kingsoft Office or Office Suit Pro for android they are some of the best and support all major file formats you are looking to edit

OfficeSuite will not open ODT documents (unless there is some sort of add-on or plugin that I'm missing).

I got Libre for my PC and it works wonderfully. Wondering if the droid version will also be donate-only.

Do any of these Android word processors include a builtin Equation Editor?

DocumentsToGo does not, and is the only one I have tried.
