Open wifi password protected internet

I have been in several hotels where there was an open wifi, my phone showed it but it was unable to get online.

Looks like when you get through the first step it would bring you to another page where you put the username and password in.

With my android phone I can not get to this second step.

Any idea?

Thank you.

Hello cjanos and welcome to Android Forums. If you go into your settings >wifi you should see the free wifi and a chance to add whatever the free spot tells you for psswd etc.
I hope this helps. Thanks for joining these forums and I hope you enjoy your time here.

It does not come up with the window that would let me put the password in. Only Connect, and that does not work.
On a laptop it automatically goes to the browser where you can put in the user name and password.

When you go into your settings>wifi.. you should see the available networks. The hotel should be found in that list. When you click on that connection.. there isn't an option to add whatever the establishment requires?

Unfortunately this is not the problem.
This is how it works with a laptop:
You go to the available WiFi from the hotel.
Next the hotel website comes up where you enter the user name and password. Sometimes you need to agree to their conditions. When you are done with that page then you are on the net.
I have just installed a browser on my android. I wonder if next time I am in such a hotel will the hotel's above web page come up automatically to enter the password.

Thank you.
